Why do you still use Internet Explorer 6?

It simply boggles the mind why people still use Internet Explorer 6. The user experience is poor and is full of security flaws. As a user you are opening the door for attacks against your computer. I would encourage you to read up on the wikipedia entry Criticism of Internet Explorer to gain a better understanding of what I am talking about.

IE 6 also has never had strong support for web standards, which in turn has become a complete nightmare for web developers. If you’re viewing c4focus in IE 6 you will notice that it doesn’t display correctly. The reason for this is the lack of PNG support and it is something that I no intention of fixing. In fact I find no compelling reason to support IE 6 for any future websites or applications that I am a part of. By developing websites for IE 6 you basically have to resort to hacks which accounts for longer development time and in turn will be more expensive for the client.

If you insist on using Internet Explorer I encourage you to upgrade to Internet Explorer 7. Security has improved for IE 7 and the support for web standards has greatly improved which in turn offers a much better user experience.

Otherwise there are plenty of other browsers that exist that I highly encourage you to take a look at.
